You Know I Can't Hear You When the Water's Running                  Arean Players Main Stage Theater, East Farmingdale
This is a comedic series of four one-act plays with a common theme of poor interpersonal communications: a desperate actor slowly realizeds the nature of the part he is auditioning for; a middle-age couple decides to replace their marital bed; a couple cannot agree on how to deal with their children's sex lives; and an elderly couple have a difficult time sorting out their past mates and lives. Comedy. A local TV talk-show host is getting married but her sisters are intent on talking her out of it since the groom-to-be has neglected to tell his intended that he is about to be indicted for insider trading. The women's difficulties with men, which result from a childhood with an alcoholic father and an abused mother, unfold amid laughter in this delightful, wise, and warm-hearted play. Tickets are $18 for adults, $16 for seniors and student, and $14 for childrend 12 and under with advanced reservation. All adult and senior tickets are $20 at the door. Group rates are available. The Arena Players Repertory Theater company presents its annual Summer Shakespeare Festival. A play that celebrates the humorous aspects of love. The approaching wedding festivities of Theseus, Duke of Athens, and his bride-to-be, Hippolyta, Queen of the Amazons, are delightfully crisscrossed with the on-again, off-again romaces of two young pairs of Athenian lovers; a fateful rivalry between the King and Queen ofthe Fairies; and the theatrical aspirations of a bumbling troupe of Athenian laborers. Performances are on Friday at 8PM and Sunday at 7PM. Admission is $12.

Join Alice, the White Rabbit, the Mad Hatter, and all the other beloved characters throughout their adventrues in this delightful audience participation version of the Lewis Carroll classic.
