The Long Island Philharmonic and music director David Stewart Wiley would have treated Long Island residents to the world's great music at the Islip Arts Council's Annual Free Philharmonic Concert in Heckscher State Park in East Islip on July 18 at 8 PM. Unfortunately, due to lack of funding, the program, called Music in the Park, featuring works by some of the most beloved American composers, including George Gershwin, Leonard Bernstein, John Phillip Sousa, Billy Joel, and John Williams, was not heard.
Music in Park will return on July 17, 2010 |
